Printer-friendly versionWhat it does
The Web Content tool allows site owners to choose external websites to display within their worksite and give them a title. To add a Web Cotent Link click Site Info and then Edit Tools. Enter a title and the URL for the site. Click the Continue button and on the next screen click the Finish button.
Key concepts
- When editing an existing Web Content link the "tool title" name corresponds to the name in the top toolbar and the "page title" will be reflected in the left toolbar. The original name you gave it when adding the link in Site Info will be both the tool title and page title by default.
- A link will then appear in the toolbar to the left. When you click the link, the website will open within your worksite.
- You also have the ability to make the site pop-up in a new window (check the box to the left of the "open in new window" option).
- You may add multiple Web Content links to your menubar. To add aditional links go to Site Info and then Edit Tools.
Things to consider
- If you want to provide many links to websites for your course or project participants, you can avoid cluttering your menubar by listing most of them in the Resources section.
- Departments, collaborations, or other groups may use the Web Content tool to provide a prominent link to their public worksite.
