
Mailtool allows you to pick specific people or various groups of people in combination by checking boxes that correspond with the specific person or group.
To send a message to all students check the box next to All Students. Do the same for any other specific role (All Instructors, All GSIs, etc). To send to a selected group of students or a specific section click on the appropriate link to the right of All Students. You can do the same to select specific individuals that have any other role.
Directly beneath the subject line of the message there is a link to Attach a File. Click this to attach a file.
Below the composition pane are two options, and the first is simply for the sender to receive a copy of their own outgoing message. The second is whether a copy of this message should be appended to the Email Archive tool. If appended to the Email Archive it will thus be visible to all site participants. If the Email Archive is not enabled for the particular site, this latter choice will not appear.
Click Send Mail to send the message.
What's the difference between Announcements, Email Archive, and the Mailtool?
While all three tools facilitate email communication to the members of a bSpace site, you must log in to bSpace to post information with the Announcements tool or Mailtool but can send email through the Email Archive tool without logging in to bSpace first.
