Project Site Questions

The differences between course sites and project sites are:

  • Course sites are linked to the registrar's database. Instructors add students by associating their roster with the site. Project sites require that all users be added manually.
  • Course sites have a tool called Section Info to manage sections of the course. Project sites have a button in Site Info labeled "Manage Groups" to manage groups in a project.

Instructors, GSIs, and staff can create bSpace sites. This includes both course sites and project sites. Here are instructions for creating a project site.

Under your My Workspace tab click on Membership. You can then click the Unjoin button under the appropriate site you wish to disassociate yourself from. You can also email someone that runs the site to request to be removed.

If you want to stay in the site but hide its tab, login to bSpace and click Preferences in the toolbar. Click the Customize Tabs link at the top of the screen. Sort your site tabs with the arrows and then click the Update Preferences button. You will still receive site email with the tab hidden.

No. At this time undergraduate students, even those acting as TAs, do not have the ability to create a new bSpace site. If you want to create one ask a faculty member to sponsor you on the project.
